i wanted the new wake edition, but figured since this was my first venture into boating maybe i should get something used to try... i love it!
but here are my issues...
1. runs fantastic, but seems to crank alot before starting... i replaced two fuel filters, is there a main one in tank or just of the tank?
2. how do you lube the steering and throttle cables?
3. why cant i download the 97 shop manual on this site??

You should be able to download it, you just need to save it to your computer to view it. Let me know if you still have problems, if you do I can just email it to you.3. why cant i download the 97 shop manual on this site??

Only a "screen" in the tank on bottom of the sender- may or may not be dirty.
Most likely the filters in your carbs giving you trouble. Since it is a 97 model, that's where I would look first. You can find an online assembly/disassembly guide for the Mikuni SBN here:
