Hey, I read the radio manual for the stock clarion. Seems there are no aux inputs or CD changer control so no ipod adapter hard wired? Is there anyway to hardwire an ipod to the stock deck?

Ok, first weekend on the water. We had a blast. Unfortunately the river here is pretty dirty we sucked up a twig that jammed the impeller. Back at home we poked it out and took the boat back out sunday for other blast. We sucked up something again but as soon as I felt it I goosed the throttle it it chewed it right on through.

I know it would sacrifice lots of top speed but it would be nice to have a chicken wire type pump inlet screen that is detachable for dirty water.

All in all, fun little boat!

Congrats on the boat. Looks just like mine and I also picked it up just very recently (no tower on mine). Got a great deal on a new 06 that I just couldn't pass up.

So, is the only way to get an ipod/mp3/aux input on this boat to upgrade to a clarion M455? Is it plug an dplay? Does the M455 have RCA aux in, or is a CD changer adapter required?

As far as mp3 players .. I just swapped my clarion to a pyle mp3/cd/radio with the weather band. It also has a wired remote that I mounted on the right side of the steering wheel. I'll post pictures soon but I love the setup. Much better than the crappy clarion that the boat comes with stock.

One way to use your iPod with the stock Clarion is to get a Monster iCarPlay for about $50. It plugs into the 12volt plug, connects to the iPod and transmits on any frequency you set. So, you find a frequency unused in your area, set the iCarPlay and the FM receiver to it and play away. I use mine in my Miata and on a big sailboat, and it works great in both.
