I have a 1999 sea doo challenger 1800 and on my one engine the starter doesnt turn over right away when i hit the ignition (start) button.....there is a pause then it will start or once in awhile i have to push it again.....i do hear a click when i push the start button but after that is where i sometimes have the pause.....though it sometimes does start right away.....
Starter or selenoid ??

Buy yourself a good 12v test light . While helper turns key to start ,check for power on starter side of soleniod, If the test light lights a few seconds after the click then you have your problem . If ok, do same test at starter. Be sure all connections are clean and tight , including grounds.

It ended up being the starter relay (selenoid)......thanks for the help.....Buy yourself a good 12v test light .
