About to purchase a 1998 or 1999 16 ft. Speedster. I like this model because of the two forward facing bucket seats up front with the 2 seats behind. Anyway... I just happen to come across a Speedster "SK" and I can't seem to find the difference in the two boats! And they are priced about the same... all I can see is that one boat has the bow covered and the other has it open... or maybe that's an added accessory... not sure.
Is there any other big difference I should know about to sway me toward one boat or the other?
Great forum... thanks for the help!

That is the main difference, the "SK" has the closed bow where the regular Speedster has an open bow with a fifth seat. I believe both of those years have the same Rotax engine, it wasn't until 2000 when they started put the Mercury V6 engine in the Speedster.

As far as I know Kevin is right. There is little difference except for the bow. In 2000 they made the Speedster 160 which has a single Mercury 240hp single engine on the rear dooing its thing. The difference there is half the bills but double the chance of getting stranded!!!
