I saw something about a sub move i think it was called where you throw the boat in reverse while going forward...does that damage anything? what exactly does it do? anyone got any more cool tricks that we can do with these boats? a friend told me something about going full speed and shutting one of the engines off and cutting the wheel hard to one side...anything else thats cool and wont damage the boat? thanks!

HOLY $@#%!!! Does that not mess the boat up any? What if water gets down to the engines? Jesus that is awesome, I think I would be afraid to try that, my luck the boat would sink after I did it!

The only thing I'm afraid of is breaking the reverse buckets. They aren't the most sturdy in the world. If they were aluminum I'd feel better.
That's alot of water for one small drain to get rid of quickly. You can do it, it just might take a little bit to drain...

I'm with Scarface....still not convinced this is Ok for the boat and stuff. I will probably try it once but I certainly wouldn't be telling my dealer that I am doing just in case something goes wrong.

I've done the sub move three times. The first was the beginning of May last year...water temp was about 40 degrees. I took out a friend who had done major damage to my back the previous season by jumping wakes in his scarab. I hadn't really practiced, just tried it. A nice gentle wave came over the bow drenching the both of us. No water accumulated in the cockpit but we were both drenched. He had no idea what happened and thought that we had a mechanical problem. When I told him that I did it on purpose, he couldn't believe it...and loved it. He's still complaining about the "shrinkage"!

The last time, I took out a close friend who also happens to insure the Doo. This time I was extremely successful and had a huge wave come over the bow...ripped the back cushion of the bow seat right off (luckily it was tethered)...ripped my friend's glasses right off. We had about two feet of water in the cockpit, idled back to shore (we were only a few feet from shore) and lifted the Doo out to drain. Water was in every compartment and took about a week to dry out.

Would I doo it again? Probably not. It just gets everything too wet.

I am, however, still insured!

I'm for anything FUN, however, my wife doesn't share my perspective. Too bad for her- I love sneaking up on her with things like this.... makes the ass chewing I get that much more fun.

could someone explain to me physically how you do it? do you leave the throttles on full and slam the lever from forward to reverse? if so while cruising slow i tried to pull on it a little and it wouldnt move..or do you have to throttle down put it in reverse and then throttle back up?

On ours: full throttle......... back to no throttle and pull shifter into reverse...full throttle again. There is a lock to prevent you from going to 'neutral' while at full throttle, that's why you couldn't move the shifter. Still remember, your reverse gates are plastic, and can break. SUB ON!

yeah the plastic gates keep me from wanting to do it...i think i will hold off for now!

I think eveyone has to try it once. The gates will not break. If they do, Tigger will tell you where to get new ones, and exactly how to install them.
