For your knowledge:
So, I am kind of glad I did not pull my own pump.
After having my insurance adjuster look at the pump, I was told that the pump was not sealed properly from the factory. Which is the only explanation as to the amount of corrosion in my one pump on my 50-60 hour boat. And to make matters worse my insurance will not cover a manufacturing defect.
The warranty expired in August and BRP does not want to help. I understand I bought a 1st generation( first model year boat.) I just did not expect to have two major repairs requiring leaving me without a boat the first two season mainly.
Last year my boat was out of commision until about August because there was major fiberglass structural problems under the bow seats. I received an old design that snuck through the quality control at BRP.
This year I kill my pump bearings, because the lub was washed away from not being properly sealed, the process kills the entire pump, shaft, pump housing impeller, everything. I could hear a whine which I thought was a bearing, I was correct. Too bad by the time I got back to the trailer the pump was a wreck.
Don't know if it is just bad luck, but two repairs with bills over a $1000 since August...luckily waranty did cover the fiberglass a bill some where like $2600.
I guess the long and short of it is, our maintenance free pumps require some caution careful. Don't know what could have been done to prevent it other then to tear it down "for fun."
I doubt I will be back to a Seadoo jetboats, be it bad luck, or BRP's quality. Either way I don't want to risk another summer passing me by on the shore. I am debating fixing it and selling it.
Thoughts? Questions? Perspectives?
I currently hate my boat

Not sure I would let up on BRP that easy...if in fact you feel they are responsible. You would have to make sure all the maintenance was done and documented etc etc.... Then if you still don't get resolve.......ditch it.
I will tell you though, I never would have called my insurance company before finding out if it was covered or not. There is more than one way to skin a cat......

Not sure what the dealers agenda is or was, but they told me it would be insured, so I figured I probably would not make another claim so why not....
AAA is currently writing me a letter stating emphatically that the problem is a manufacturing defect.
