anyone out there know why one of my engines on my challenger 1800 1998 will not grap full rpm , it starts going then the rpms drop back and forth 4500 to 7000 .

when i full throthle it wont go . the other engine runs just fine . help summer is half way through

You have the 110's? Possibly carbon build up on the RAVEs for that engine? Check em out...

will i need to replace the raves ???

depends- maybe just a good cleaning will do- my XP is the first Doo I've had with RAVES- I have read elsewhere that this causes the symptom you describe.

thanks for the info , im looking at sea doo shop manuel it only shows how to adjust how do u remove this rave valve . top comes off pretty easy does it all need to come out ???

I had the same symptoms on a '97 speedster. One engine would lose rpm's and then return. It turned out to be a jet-pump problem. We had lost the seal in the cone of the jet-pump and had to replace a couple of parts. Have you noticed any oil around the jet of the engine giving trouble??

i will check and keep u updated its been pretty frustrating with the boat not working .thnks for your response
