I have a 97 challenger 1800. My left engines oil line has come loose. It has come loose where the oil line from the filter connects to the oil pump (the whole fitting has come out)
It looks like a little brass elbow that is not threaded or anything. Is this just pressed into the oil pump?

I believe so. Most people at this point convert to premix, to avoid the possibility of loosing an engine due to a faulty oil pump.
