I just got my new 06' Sportster non-SCIC standard boat and ended up at $15,083.00 out the door tax included. I was told that insurance was not required on the 6.99% special finance deal but, I am thinking that I would have to be an idiot not too have some type of loss protection. I am lost to the different options on insurance for boats and need advice. I have 100/300/100 on my autos with $1,000 deductibles and by going that same route on the boat with medical payments and uninsured boater, it will run $297.00 a year. This don't seem too bad for all of the coverage I would have.
Please let me know if this seems to be "over-insured" or should I look at other policies. Does the price seem fair as well? I doo remember that I had Progressive on two new 2003 RX DI watercrafts and it was just over $500.00 a year for the pair back then. All of your thoughts and advice is appreciated. Later,LB

In my state all finanical companys require full coverage to cover loss. your prices seem to be in line with others i know of.

Thats about what I paid when I had my doos..I thinkdk laib. is a big part of the $$.. My currant oat is 800/ year but I was looking @ a 28' Skater (cat ) &ins would have been 4k a year
