I am just about to purchase a new 2006 SportsterSCIC from a Northeastern dealer, has anyone got enough hours on this model to give me some feedback on the quailty, preformance, handling , problems or whatever on this boat? Any info would be helpful, Please let me know

i have the 2005 model which i believe is exactly the same and its fantastic, fast and economical, get yourself some turf and you have the perfect sports boat IMO

Just do not believe the fuel gage readings. My '04 is way off. Sender was replaced with no improvement. Am told that is just the way it is with SeaDoo.
Not happy with that, but otherwise very happy.

Ditto Thumpers post. I also have 05 have used nearly every weekrnd since bought . plus my fuel gage works !! Get some TURF and enjoy.

Couldn't be happier (touch wood) -- we have the 05 SCIC and just got back tonight from two days on the water -- this boat rocks. we are a family of 4 and all fits -- don't anticipate too much comfort... but for wakeboarding, tubing and soon kneeboarding (the kids want to watch Dad swim with the fish...) this boat does it all. Each day we burned 13-14 gallons -- start, stop go around, repeat -- but in between we chased every one on the lake.

Tjree things --1) if buying new consider the tower -- no retro add; 2) As the previous guys mentioned --install the hydroturff (with 3M tape) -- works really well; and 3) we installed a binimi top this spring -- great for extended tours -- please watch installation of the from clips -- mine are stretched....

Great boat, trailers well, and runs -- have fun!

Thanks for all of the input. I have since put 3 hours on the boat and I am very impressed with this little rocket ship. The Hydro Turf has arrived and will be installed today. (Black Molded Diamond) I will be taking the boat up to Saranac Lake in Upstate NY later this week to finish the break in period. I have boated on the Fulton Chain Of Lakes in Inlet, NY for years but I am trying the Saranac Chain of lakes this summer, there are 4 lakes with locks that connect them with miles of water to check out, I live in NJ where the lakes are crowded with wacko's so I am looking forward getting up state. She handles well for her LWL and is a blast to drive. How well does she do getting a 200 lb skier or wakeboarder up on deepwater starts? I will be giving that a try after the break in is done. Bimini is ordered and coming in soon. I will post some pix after return from the lake. Thanks again.

mine pulls me out in under 2 secs and i am 180 - 190 lbs - we just knock the boat in forward and then go about 75% throttle and you'll be up... good luck - this is mono ski deep water starts i assume youre asking about

Yes the water sports include deepwater salom ski starts for me and regular waterskiing an tubing for the rest of the gang. I am 190lbs and old. I used to start from a dock with 10 feet of slack laying in the water and would just yell HIT IT for a real rocket of a start, and come back after an hour or so (needed to gas up boat) and catch the dock and only get wet to about the knees..... THAT WAS THEN AND THIS IS NOW!!! But I am not laying down yet. I thought about wakeboarding until I read about all of the hard landings so I decided to go with what I know, Skis. Got a good pair of O'Brien combo skis and I am looking forward to hurting my self on the lake. Thanks

I have the 06 model with about 15hrs its my first boat and i dont regret buying it, it works for everything i do like waterskiing, tubing , and also wakeboarding. im 6'0 180lbs and the boat gets me out of the water with no prob at all. does anyone have the bimini top or the hydro-turf on their boat ??? is it worth it ?? i was thinking about getting the bimini since i live in FL and the sun is a pain in the a**.

i got the black moulded diamond on mine and it really enhances the boat- dont forget your 15% discount thru this site - there are pics in the gallery of turf on my 2005 sportster

As a previous poster indicated -- watch the front clip position -- my front straps are "very" tight -- in fact one of the lines is fraying... I might suggest that seadoo missed the calculation -- nevertheless -- just back from 3 days out on Torch Lake in MI, and the binimi top worked like a charm -- wakeboarding at 20 mph -- no problem... ps. don't forget to but the hydroturff on (black diamond) -- this made the biggest difference. Good luck.
