It happened twice on the same ride. The first time, I was just cruising along planing and then slowed down to idle speed. I looked down at the tachs and they were both frozen at 5500 RPM. I increased speed above and below this level a couple times and nothing changed. After about a minute, they both kicked in again and worked fine. A little later on, they both stuck at idle speed for a short time and then came to life again.
As you said, the engines were running normally the whole time.
It has not happened to me again yet, so I haven't even bothered talking to my dealer about it. I didn't realize this was a common occurance.
Let me know if you find out a cause or solution.
Thanks,
Curt

Mine do the freeze thing from time to time and a couple of weeks ago my port tach was reading about 1000 RPM high for two days then it went back to normal. It sounds like they have a couple of different problems in the same circuit. When reading high the Port tach would show more than 8K (way more) on my 310HP '05, I could tell the engines were both turning at the same speed and were normal (7200-7300 RPM for me).Update on tach problems, last weekend at an idle the starboard engine tack would fluctuate between 2000-3500 rpm at an idle. Engine speed was normal. This is the first time I have seen this occur. Usually it is at higher speed and they freeze or read way high.

Hi, I have the same problem with my speedster wake 2006 2x215hp.I have a 05 speedster 200 SC and recently I have experienced situations where the tach particuarly the port freezes while running at whatever rpm it was before I changed the throttle position. Also I have seen the tachs peg past the 8000 rpm mark. If you stop the engines and restart they seem to work right or sometimes you can move the throttles back and forth and they will read right. The engines are running fine the whole time. Any info appreciated.
Thanks
Only when I stop and take my key out everthing start to work normal.
The dealer have on the moment no anwer on this problem.
