Was out boating yesterday and my starboard motor quite and the temp light came on. By looking at the muffler it had definently overheated. My exhaust had started to smoke a little more erlier in the day and by the end of the day when I made it back to the ramp my port engine(Only one left that was able to still run) had started smoking real bad from the exhaust. Seeing that it has four stroke motors it shouldn't smoke at all. Could this be a blown head gasket and my coolant leaking into the cylinders? I think I have the same problem on both motors, just the one died before the other did. Any thoughts?

Sounds like your intercooler is plugged If your model is just supercharged and not intercooled then it may be the pump strainer that is plugged. You need to flush your system and this will dislodge the sand or offending material from the intercooler/strainer. Your pump feeds water to the intercooler then to the exhaust manifold/waterbox and if this flow is restricted you will overheat. There is a strainer on the water inlet of your open loop cooling system which is located on the pump itself at about the 11:00 position. It has a nylon nut that you can remove and inspect for pluggage. The flushing should fix your problem but checking this strainer is a good idea.
Good luck and keep us posted.

I have NA motors, so I have no intercoolers. I checked the muffler on the motor that overheated and it had no water in it. I fluches the open system and it flowed fine, and no debris or anything came out of it. Hopefully the shop can figure it out.
