Electrical Speedster Issue

I have recently purchased a 1995 Sea Doo Speedster with Twin 657's. I purchased it in the fall with the understanding that the guages would not work. I rode it a few times and the tach's, spedo, and the gas guage do not operate. However, the oil light in the gas guage does operate. I have checked the fuses in the motor compartment elec. box, they are all good. The boat seems to run great other than the fact every now and then while ridding the boat completly quits and I am able to start it right back up again. This has been extremely frustrating and I use the boat as a stress reducer, however, recently it has been adding much stress to my life. If anyone has anything they could suggest I look into I would appreciate that very much.

It sounds to me that you may have an intermittant electrical contact problem. It could be a loose connection or corrosion on a connection.I would start at the battery and clean the connections and then trace from the battery looking for anything loose, suspect, or corroded.Generally,a look, a feel, and a jiggle with your fingers may uncover a loose or dirty Gremlin.I hope this might help and provide you with a start.GaryHey All...
