About 10 years ago I joined the site- we owned a twin 720 engine speedster, since have gotten married + kids etc. Time flies, boat was sold long ago. Had a great time with it and zero issues.
Now looking to get back onto the water. Seadoo boats still really hold their value up here (Toronto, Ontario).
Watching a couple of used ones and trying to get a handle on the motors etc and things to watch for..
1) 2006 Challenger 180 with 82 hours on 4tec SC, at a used dealer-says it was his family boat.
2) 2004 Utopia 205 with 120 hours on 250 merc, private sale.
Love the size and lines of the Utopia but the merc is not familiar to me.
4tec seems like a safer bet but the SC has not been serviced and will need the rebuild soon enough. This boat is +4000.00 over the Utopia.
Any opinions? Are there many SC failures before the recommended 100 hour service?
thanks
Chris
