We were looking to buy the boat mentioned above, both engines were rebuilt by a local shop with a good reputation (I have used them in the past). Now the scary part we are out on a test ride with the dealership and both engines get a check engine light, followed by 1 engine pretty much blowing up. Metallic shards and oil out the exhaust. Time to walk away? Even if the dealership gets the engines fix i'm not sure it's worth the risk. Anyone have any advice?

I'd be going faster than a walk.  If you were sill showing interest, I would suggest the engines would be fixed as cheaply as possible to get a quick turn around.
