I was cruising and there was a sudden onset of vibration with the throttle above idle like something got stuck in the jet drive. I was being careful not to run ove any sticks, but I didn't think leaves would be a problem. I tried to gun the throttle a few times to dislodge it, but the problem continued. I tried going in reverse and then shutting the engine off which usually works for me when something gets stuck in front of the impeller, no help. The vibration only occurs when the left engine is on and above idle. I looked in after getting the boat out of the water and there is a leaf stuck between the impeller and the venturi tunnel, sticking about 1/2 way out on either end of the impeller. It can be seen from both ends - looking at the impeller from the rear and looking through the intake grate at the impeller. It wouldn't blow out with 6000-7000 rpm runs and that surprises me. No other stuck objects seen. It is too far to reach with tools from either end and I don't want to scratch the inside of the venturi. Does anyone know of a liquid that will dissolve a leaf without hurting any of the jet drive parts?

I couldn't believe a leaf was causing the vibration. I looked with a better flashlight and found a small piece of wood stuck at the corner of one of the blades of the impeller on the front side (not the side on the photo). It took a piece of metal to get the wood out and I don't think I scratched anything. I think it will run fine now. I'll find out next time out.

Same thing happened to us a few years ago. Glad you found the problem.
