New to forum just bought a 165 Scarab for lake wanted something 2 people or 4 could sit in. Boat has 155hp and according to spedo does 44mph at 7400rpm. Can I get 5mph more with out major mods. LOL  Had a jet many years ago, 468chevy, older and Don't have the need for that much speed. My boat has a a Rotax 3 cyl 4 stroke.  Having fun with the grand kids etc.   Tnx Hope this was posted in the right place.

I'm new to the forum, I purchased a 97 seadoo speedster in August, only had time to take her out the once. I noticed that the scupper valve was letting in water. Does anyone know where I can purchase a new scupper valve in Ontario. Thanks all.

Hello all! I am new here as well.  Next Friday I pick up my first boat!  It is a 2006 Seadoo Challenger CS supercharged Rotax engine. She sat for about a year and a few months.  She was used in the ocean (but has the closed loop cooling).  I do not know the hours as it is a broker but he said he will request any documentation the owner has.  Unfortunately this model does not have an hour meter.  I will try and see if a local service shop would read it for me for a small fee.

 

I was wondering, since it is a closed loop cooling system, do I need to worry about it having been run in the ocean?

 

What should I inspect in that regard.

 

I also wanted to ask, has anyone installed a (larger) bimini on their boat?  The stock one is quite small and I would like to have something that will offer more shade (I am taking her to Big Bear Lake at 7000 ft altitude ... UV is hot up there).

 

I think I am getting it at a great deal.  I got it for $6600, all others are from $8900 to 12k.  The boat was listed at 8k then 7k and when they lowered it to 6k I went and looked at her.  Clean, just alot of dirt on the outside from sitting in the brokers lot.  This is in Newport Beach where she was surrounded by $700,000 yachts lol.  The engine oil was light colored and she turned on right away.  I wish I knew how many hours she had.  The broker said he really thought it did not have many.  Any other recommendations for me?

Hello from North Carolina. After going several years boatless, I'm considering jumping back in. Looking at an Islandia, which is a significant downsize from m last boat, but way big enough for these lakes.

New here as well as Lewiston, ID from So Cal. Been a Sailor all my adult life (31' Hunter), now moving on to motoring on the river. No boat, yet. Looking at a 2001 185 Utopia with 210 hp. Motor was replaced about a year ago. Est hrs. 40 and appears to be in excellent condition. It's a few hours away so haven't looked at it yet.  Local has a 2003 Yamaha LX210. After reading specs, seems to be a gas guzzler compared to the Utopia. Any input in comparisons from this forum is appreciated.

Hello, New Member here.  Just purchased 2009 SeaDoo Challenger 180 SE with 255 HP engine.  Boy does it go. Well compared to my previous boat,  2010 20ft Pontoon with 50 hp Honda, what doesn't go faster. Really looking forward to years of fun pulling my daughter and her friends tubing, skiing etc.  I was surprised at first start-up, in a neutral shift position, how much movement of the boat occurred (spinning).    Especially on first launch at the dock.  That will take some getting used to since I've only had outboards and I/Os before.    Will really need to practice entering my lift before I head off to any public docks/restuarants on the water.

Question regarding a fuel gauge: Does the 2009 SeaDoo Challenger model show fuel-remaining level anywhere on the digital display?  Am I missing it? Definitely no separate gauge or dial positioned that I see.

I'm a new member here with a recently purchased 2012 Challenger 180 SE (64 hrs). Looking for deck covering (Hydro Turf or SeaDek) and a cover. I can get a total cover but really wanted the bow & cabin covers which are not available anymore through SeaDoo or various dealers. 

 

Any suggestions? Thank you

Hydro-Turf and a cover from Poppy Company are both great choices.

I had 5 st. small boat, which we designed and built with my friends. It was almost 10 years ago and I'm dreaming about another one. Yesterday tried Speedster and was impressed with performance and stability.

Formerly had a 1996 Sportster single which was underpowered.
