Hate to join a forum with a question but I need some advice. Just bought a 2012 challenger 1800 se with the 255. Took it out yesterday and it tops out at 35mph and around 6500-6800 rpm. Now the guy I bought it from had it checked and it does need a air temp sensor. Will this cause the low speed and rpm? Also the start button light is yellow. Not sure I that indicates some kind of safe mode or if it is supposed to be yellow.

Has warranty til mid 2017 but the dealer said they want to charge me the 50 decidable, which is fine, but another 100 to just check out if that is the problem. Thoughts?

hi.. I have the 210 SP and the engine start buttons are yellow.

 

Based on my experience with the Seadoo dealers, you need to find a new dealership right away........ and I would also start with a call to Seadoo

Thanks. Wasn't sure about the light. But it is a good idea. Green light good, yellow light safe mode.

Just got a call from the dealer. $50 deductible. No extra charges. Was an updated sensor they had to install.

excellent. that sounds reasonable to me and my guess is you are pretty happy to have an awesome to new boat (and an awesome one at that!!!) have you had a chance to get you to the speed/rpm you were expecting?

Not yet. Left it at the dealer and are away til Monday

Just got back from a ride. Topped out at 53mph 8000 rpm. all is good !!!
