I'm looking for anyone who owns or owned one of these SeaDoo's. I'd like know what type of performance to expect from it. What they have have done as performance upgrades.

Yes I do know its old and probably alot slower that whoever's 05' twin Rotax etc... No haters please.

Are you sure it's a 657. I had a 1995 sportster and it had a 720 (85 hp). Or maybe it was 96...

Anyway, mine pulled me skiing (at that time I weighted 190) with two persons on board. Performance is really good, I think my top speed must have been around 35 - 38 mph...

It's definatly a 657x It says it right on the engine spec plate. Also states it on the origination certificate from Bombardier. Model 5892 31.1 hp at the pump.

I've been riding and building JS 650 sx's for years and years, this is my first Rotax.

The boat is so clean I couldn't pass it up. They put $1100 into the pump alone in late 04'.

I saw a spec sheet on this when I bought my first Speedster (1995). According to Sea Doo, the '95 Sportster tops out at 42 MPH. One small mod you can do is change the cone on the end of the pump. The '95s had a blundt cone....when I upgraded my 95 Speedster with the new, sleeker cones, I gained 1 MPH to my top speed (verified by GPS).

Thats pretty big I saw an ebay auction for an "update" cone for $19.99, any validity to that?
