OIL USAGE/Leaks at IDLE or slow speeds. I have a 96 Speedster with nothing but problems this year. Ran fine after de-winterization. Took to mechanic for annual compression and tune up and all checked great. 1st trip on water and 3 hours into fun starboard motor was loose on the mount. Had same mechanic re-tighten. He did so improperly and 2nd to to lake came loose again and ruining carbon ring...Did not take back to him and local sea-doo dealer properly tighten motor by removing it and took back out on lake. Now the trouble starts. The motor smokes all to hell (more than the other motor ) and I am using upwards of 3 quarts of mineral oil in 3 hours...New mechanic farther away from my house says no issues compression good however carbs were very bad...He cleans carbs/ replaced gaskets and takes for 2 hour test & play.. He says no issues but he had to add oil..Unreal because 1 gallon of oil easily runs the boat for all day boat trip..(40-1 ration on most 2 strokes right?) So anyway now this past weekend i take to lake for 3rd time this year. (3 hours away) and starboard motor using so much oil that it bogs down and has likely fowled a plug...
What is the deal? Mechanic checked seals and say rebuild not needed...Left motor is running like a champ...Any input knowledge would be great
Thanks fellas -Dan
