2012 210 Wake with 430HP 

 

Recently I was being pulled water skiing, and once back on board the boat to drive it back to the dock. I noticed that the steering was now very hard to turn right or left.  I got the boat back to the dock and once on land, I started to try and figure out what happened.

1. I saw no damage to the jet drives for we did not hit anything
2. I disconnected the steering cable to the jet drives, for which the jet drive nozzles freely moved to the left and right.

Before I go and tear the steering mechanism apart, to determine the source of the issue. 

 

Has anyone come across this at all?  Is there anything electronic in possibly the touch screen that is restricting steering?

 

Any suggestions would be appreciated in shortening the time to repair.

The end result was a steering cable that had gone bad.  This is not covered by SeaDoo's BEST warranty system much to my disappointment, considering the boat is a 2013 model, with 70 hours on the engines and run in only fresh water.

 

If you have basic mechanical skills, you can replace the cable yourself and save $400 in labor cost

trust you meant 2012...... am shocked to hear this is not covered under warranty

wow i have the same boat, is there any lubrication on the general maintance i should be doing to prevent this?
