Has anyone installed any sort of trim system on your boat? I was thinking about putting some trim tabs on my c180, but don't really know if it will give me the results i'm looking for. Anyone have any experience in this area?

Yea,
I have a 2001 speedster 160 with the 240 Merc. When I first got it, I loved it in smooth water, but on chop it was horrible. It was constantly jumping out of the water and was extremly unconfortable. I bought some fixed trim tabs and it made a world of difference. Now I can fly through chop I would never have even went through before. The draw back to the tabs were:
Installation required quite a bit of modification to make it fit right.
The speedo is way off but not much of a concern for me.
I think it hurt my top end speed but don't know for sure as the speedo is off and nobody I know can keep up with me at WOT anyway.. he he.
My plan this spring is to hinge the tabs and install some Lenco actuators to make them adjustable.
I can't believe Seadoo didn't install some type of tabs from the factory. With them is a world of difference then without them. I'll try to attach some pics of the install.
Good Luck
