Like I've said before, I'm very new to the board so go easy on me!
I'm getting my Sportster SCIC this spring, wondering if I should get the Wake Tower? Money will be tight so if you guys think it's a good idea to get it with the boat please convince me!
A bit about my family: we are going to be wake boarding, never done it before so there won't be any jumps for awhile. Who knows, maybe wake boarding won't even catch on with us?! I guess that's my concern, lots of money for who knows what? again, please state your case!

I was in the same situation, I didn't really have the money to put one on when I got my speedster. The tower is also good for you're sound system and lights if you do alot of night boating or care about your tunes on the water. Being a structural engineer I have designed my own and plan to build it starting around Jan. Save me a bunch of money then I can get better speaker and lights for boarding at night. It also lets you mount a bimini top a little higher if needed. As far as boarding a beginner definently does not need a tower. Tricks can also be pulled without the tower, not as fancy ones but doable. Eventually if you guys get better at boarding and spend a lot of time on the boat you will probobly want a tower. I'm not sure about mounting an aftermarket tower on a sportster but I know for the speedster it is a breeze with the aluminum tubes already on the boat to mount it to. Hopes this helps. Enjoy the new ride.
Well it 38 degrees out today so its time for the last ride of the season then I guess I better tuck her in for the winter.

I pretty much agree..... waiting won't hurt. Wakeboarding is a blast just gotta keep trying because it won't be much fun at first. I am getting better all the time and can probably start doing some flips next year. Start putting money aside and decide half way through the season.
