Open water + 10 ft waves +small boat (new) = NEW BRAIN Prob got something wet . Try smaller waves or bigger boat.A few months ago my family purchased a seado sportster 4tec 2004 but they never they just dident sell them. We were out on the lake (georgian bay) and this anooying beeping sound started we though was one of the warning lights but none were lite up so we dis regarded it. There was this loud constant high pitched humming. The next day we took it in to the marina and they plugged it up to the computer and there was nothing visibly wrong with it. They ran the engine and everything. In the end they just said they would order us a new brain. has this ever happen before. I might have been that were were out in 10 foot waves but i dont think that would make a difference. Our fish finder tranducer was totaly bent up from the waves. I'm just wwondering why this would have happened.

the design category of seadoos are 'c' which precludes going out in 10ft waves - however the human being design category is 'whatever gives'
if we have 10 ft waves here - we go surfing not boating

I use my Upotia on 10+ foot waves. I use it to go surfing to the outer reefs, and when I'm talking about a 10 foot wave, I mean that when your standing on your board, the wave is about 3 times my height (I'm 6 foot, waves are measured from the back side). However, these waves are long period swell, and do not break until they hit the reefs. About 6 years ago I had a Sporster and a six foot wave broke into it, I mean the wave crashed on the drivers console (I thought I could pass it without havind it break, but guess I was wrong). It was like an inverted submarine!!! I suffered no water damages. However, if you go 25+ MPH in 10 foot swells, you will break the boat, and bend the fishfinder I guess!!!10 ft waves in a seadoo ????? never mind the boat brain going wacko what about yours

Well, I don't use the sea doo as a surfing board per se, at least not always...I use it as a vehicle to get to the outer reefs, anchor and then go surfing. I'll get some photos next time I'm out. This last saturday we got some 4-6 fot swells from Hurricane MAria and it was a blast. A wave almost broke in the boat, had to speed and caught air for about two seconds. The whole boat was out of the water and at one point in those two seconds all I could see was sky and clouds! Mind you, this is a 2,300 pound boat without counting the pasengers and the 40 gallon freshwater tank, so you can imagine the speed I had to make to pass this 6 foot wave before it broke.have you got any pictures of seadoo surfing - sounds like a blast!
Next time I'm out surfing I'll post some photos...

Sorry that was a Yamaha, but it was the only insane photo I could find. Once I saw a 15 foot Sportster surfing down a 20 foot wave in a surfer magazine pic, but I'm just not able to find it in the web. These guys do "Tow Surfing". The concept behind this is that the waves they surf are so big, that it is physically impossible to generate the momentum to catch it only by swimming. So, you get towed into the wave in a sea doo or other pwc!!!NOt as solid as these guys...http://www.surfersvillage.com/clicks.asp?url=http://www.surfersvillage.com/img/st/John_Amundson_01-surf-seq_X.jpg

If the wave does break on them at least they have a bimini top to keep them dry.Sorry that was a Yamaha, but it was the only insane photo I could find. If you look closely, below the "B" of you will see the PWC's operator. He is in for a big life threatening wipout, getting thrown over the falls in a very shallow reef!!!I saw that one on a video, the jet sky passed the just about half a foot above the guy's head!!!tow surfing gone wrong!
