SEA DOO SERVICE

AS A OWNER OF A 2007 CHALLENGER 180SE I AM GETTING FRUSTRATED WITH THE SERVICE AND SUPPORT THAT IS AVAILABLE FOR THEM.
A FEW YEARS BACK I HAD A SEA DOO WAVERUNNER AND WHEN I UPGRADED I WENT WITH A DIFFERENT BRAND BECAUSE OF THE POOR SUPPORT AND SERICE I WAS GETTING WITH IT.
WELL, NOW I BOUGHT THIS BOAT BECAUSE I REALLY LIKED WHAT IT HAD TO OFFER, AND ONCE AGAIN I AM GETTING POOR SUPPORT AND SERVICE.
DIFFERNT SERVICE TECH'S WILL GIVE ME DIFFERENT ANSWERS TO THE PROBLEMS THAT I HAVE, YET AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO GET THEM FIXED, I STILL HAVE THE PROBLEMS. THEY ALL BLAME IT ON SEA DOO AND SEA DOO TELLS ME I MUST WORK THROUGH DEALER.
I'M JUST WONDERING IF OTHERS ARE HAVING THE SAME EXPERIENCE AS I AM HAVING.
MY MAIN PROBLEMS ARE MY BOAT IS NOT MAINTAING GOOD TOP RPM'S AND MYBOAT IS NOT KEEPING CORRECT HOURS ON THE METER.
THE DEALER TOLD ME AT FIRST THAT "THIS WAS NORMAL AT THIS TIME", BUT THE COMPUTER WOULD KEEP TRACK OF THE CORRECT HOURS. WELL ON MY WINTERIZATION THAT WASNT THE CASE, AND NOW I AM TOLD THAT THE COMPUTER NOT KEEPING CORRECT HOURS, IN ADDITION TO THE METER, "IS NORMAL AT THIS TIME".
WHEN THEY FINALLY DO COME OUT WITH A FIX, MY TRUE BOAT HOURS WILL NEVER BE KNOWN.

However, I blame Sea-Doo, not the dealer. I believe he is just as frustrated as I am. Sea-Doo won't speak to me directly, I have to go thru the dealer. But the dealer keeps getting told that the fix is comming.
Anyway, besides this, I really like the boat. Have had no other problems, so lack of an hour meter isn't going to sour me on the boat.
Hope you have as much fun with yours as we do with ours.
I am in the process of adding a second battery for the radio, GPS/fish finder, etc. If you are interested, I will send you some pictures of the installation.

I just bought used 07 challenger 180SE, with 4hrs but know that was crap!.. who buys a new boat and only uses it for 4 hours??..Not a big deal to me..If thares a fix I will get on to it..I also have an '07 Challenger 180SE. Same problem with the hour meter not reading true hours. And, like you, I was told that the computer kept track of the hours. At the first service we found out that was not true.

The service department said that they could not fix the meter, and that the radio is fine. I had them replace the plastic things under the seat once (holdsthe seat on). However when they came off two more times I went there and asked if I could get some spares or buy a bag of them and was told nope, they don't stock that.
I want to take it in for service ( I bought the 4-year plan). However I'm not sure what to tell them to service because everything up to this point in the manual says visual inspections. However, after running it for a year, Ithink the oil or something should be changed.
To the person above who is putting a second battery in, please let me know how that works out. I'd like to do that myself this spring (for the same reasons).

The fix for the hour meter is available to all dealers and works great with the 150 and 180 boats with the digital gauge. The "plastic things" on the seats are called darts. The part number for the darts is 293730021. They are readily available or should be! With respect to the service required on your 215 SCIC you should at a minimum change the oil and filter, change the final drive grease and "O" rings including pressure testing, lubricate the throttle bodies, change the spark plugs, and lube all throttle and shifter connections. Be sure to use a good grade 10W-40 mineral oil, not synthetic.Yep. I have a 07 Speedster 215hp. I bought it March 31st and have rode it all summer, fall and a good part of this winter. I took it in back in June for the 10 hour service even thought the meter said I was on something like 2. Well it's now February and my meter has finally reached 9 hours . The boat has performed wonderfully with the following exceptions: hour meter, radio comes on when it feels like it, and the seats pop off every now and again (I've gotten pretty good with the pliers and super glue).
