Well it is a good day! My wife said it's time to get a bigger boat. Currently we have a 1999 Speedster SK with the twin 85's. I love it and would reccomend it to anyone but now it's time to get a bigger boat. I am looking at Challengers and Utopias and was was wondering what you all have or would prefer. I am going to hold out for a 240 horse merc model because we all know the only thing better that power is more power. Does anyone have a preference or can give my a little guidance? It is going to be used and probably 2003 or older to keep it affordable.
Thanks for any and all help!

We need a little more info to help you. Bigger boats cruise better, small boats doo tricks better. Doo you have 2 footitis or do you want to jump up to 23 foot? what about watersports? Will you get a tower? The speedster200 is a nice package w/ 310 HP. I love my SS Mirage and 210 HP is enough for me. When I whip past people at 50 MPH I get a huge grin.. My 18 ft boat is comfortable or 4 adults, but close. I have carried 7 adults and teenagers, and that was crowded.
You also need to think about full windshied vs sport (pop-up) windshields. Both have their advocates.
For pure carrying capacity I would suggest an Islandia. For fun and power, I would get a 240HP Speedster. My Mirage, like a Utopia, is in the middle ground.
Good luck.

Sorry, I have a little more info for you. I want to stay 20' or smaller. We like to tube and ski, no wakeboarding. I love the power and handling of the speedster but need the option of hauling 6-7 people. I basically love the speedster but we outgrew it. You know how it goes when people find out you have a fun boat.......
I have my eyes on a 2000 challenger 2000 and was wondering of anyone thinks I would be a fool not to hold out for a utopia.....
Thanks guys
Nick
