Hey guys, when I take off from a standing start (wakeboarding) I get a bad cavitation, rpm's shoot to 8100 and bounce the rev limiter, even at 3/4 throttle. Grate and impeller are clean. I'm new to the Doo world and have no idea what to do,is this normal? Thanks.
Cavitation on start off.

Hmmm, cavitation normally isn't a prob towing. I've heard bad cav like this could be a seal around the ride plate. I only get one sec of skip (cav)flooring the throttle from a standing start! I'd be interested hearing from others, but I'm sure its the ride plate.

I have the same problem with my 2009 18 ft challenger with the 255 hp. I get 2-3 sec of cavitation at full throttle from standing start. Took it back to dealer while still under warranty for a test ride. Technician said it was "normal" to do that. He said that it is not a problem. Funny thing though, this is my 4th jet boat, and the 1st one to do this.
