So here is the deal. 1998 Challenger 1800. Twin 787x engines. Port engine replaced last year is when this all started. When i try to start the port engine, i get SEVEN (7) yes 7 beeps. Then engine will start but after the 7th beep it shuts down. I wait 10 seconds and can try to start it again. It starts, beeps 7 times and dies. This can go on for 15 or 20 tries, then it will start with no beeps and stay running and runs fine. Shut it off and i have the same thing happen again. I replaced the MPEM so i know its not that. now, some thoughts I have, maybe I am way off track, maybe not.
1 - Can the engine be mounted wrong? No shimmed correctly so its not balances properly??
2 - Can the timing be off on the rotary valve?
3 - Something to do with the carbs?
4 - The stator or oil pump not working correctly?
one more thing. When the boat starts and the beeps are happening, the STARTER is still engaged and turning. I checked the button, the temp sensor, no change.
Im guessing here but hopefully someone has a clue? Again, yes its 7 beeps. Not in any manual that i have seen nor does any seadoo tech around my area (so NH) know what 7 beeps are? Any help would be AWSOME!
Thanks
