I have a 2006 Seadoo Islandia SE which this weekend, I noticed a crack in the fiberglass just below the two O's in Sea-Doo on the "port" side of the boat. It's about 1/2 inch below the transition from maroon to white and runs just below the transition. The fiberglass seems to be paper thin with no backing or build-up (not sure of the proper term.) Is this normal? I bought the boat used and am concerned about some wreck damage being covered up. Using a small object you can tap the fiberglass and hear it go from hollow to solid through an area about 18" x 4". However, there seems to be a similar area on the opposite side of the boat if you tap there too. Thoughts? Is this expensive to have repaired. If this is normal, where are the other soft spots in the boat? All of this is above the waterline.
