Hello I took my utopia out last week and got about 5 miles on the lake and my utopia started to run like crap. I shut the boat off and looked under the cover to see if I could find the problem and found a 2" hole in the starbord exhaust tube. The long one that comes off of the engine I called sea doo and told me the part is no longer available thru them if I wanted the part I would have to get it from mercury marine. So I called them and they told me the same thing that I have to get it from sea doo. I called 4 diffrent dealerships and two part shops cant find the part. Need any help I can get Thinking about taking it to the lake and pulling the bilge plugs

Who have you called so far so I don't recommend someone you have already tried?

Well I call three more dealers today asking for the same part and if they know where I can get it. And the last one I called let me know that out of all the sea doo boat dealers there were only three left showing in the system. One in maine and two in Upstate New York took down both numbers and $242.00 later I have all three of them heading my way. Ill just let all you know if there is a part on your boat needing attention don't hesatate to change it because dealers have limited stock for parts for utopia and the optimax engins.

I don't want to sound like a butt-head, LOL But why does everyone think you need "genuine" Mercury/Sea Doo parts after the warranty is way out of expiration?
You can get mufflers all over online that will fit simply by looking at the size of the openings and length of the tube, even custom sounding ones. For far less $$ too, LOL
When it comes to parts for Mercury engines (i.e., Opti-Max M2, etc.), they can be found all over online for far less than genuine Mercury products. I got the "exact same" alternator for the Opti-Max for $190.00 online rather than the $590.00 for the genuine product. I also had it arrive 4 days sooner than Mercury could deliver it. If you had it under warranty, I'd understand... but just sayin... LOL

Keep some silicone tape onboard just in case....will save your ass. You can get silicone hoses that will last longer than the boat.
