Hi just new to boating from Toronto Ontario Canada, Had a PWC in 1996 for a few years SEA-DOO SPX. very new to boating.
I just pick up a new 2009 180 Challanger SE and looking for some advice on what lake a should practice on and where do i start.
I should get a operator manual with the boat when i pick it up from the Dealer next month.
Thanks,

Welcome to the site, glad to have you here. Congrats on the new doo! I would say just pick a local lake, go on a day that is less busy -- take it easy and get to know the boat. After a couple of outings you will become more comfortable and should be good to go!

If you go to Lake Ontario your pretty safe anywhere,
you will need a Harbour lisence to cruise through Ontario Place.
Be Carefull if you go North to Georgian Bay,
there are lots of rocks. Many unmarked in what may appear as open water.
You need to stay inside channels or boat with someone who knows thier way around.
Lake simcoe is pretty safe.
Best to talk to locals where you launch.
If your not sure, follow someone.

Thanks for the advise, I will look into getting a Harbor license. Can't wait to get the boat on the water.
