I also would add, as a Joystick Tower Owner, that I am very satisfied with the installation on my 2000 Speedster

The reinforcing for the 180 is placed in the upper part of the hull while it is upside down and while it is being sprayed with the initial layers of fiberglass. You are correct in that there is no way to access that section easily or even with difficulty. I have recommended for 3 years in a row now at the dealer conference to place the reinforcing in ALL boats but so far that has not happened. I too would be interested in learning how towers have been mounted on the 180 and any other model for that matter.

I have the 2008 180. This past summer I installed an aerial tower on the boat. Its not easy. Took about 7 hours. We had to take out the coolers under the back seat and lay inside the hull for the back ones, and cut holes behind the front seats for the front. behind the front seat is about a foot and a half of the foam and is not easy to make a hole through. But all that said and done, it looks great.

I installed mine over the weekend and went in through the rear speaker hole with no problem. Good Luck.

I thought it gave it a larger look. Do you think it'll hurt anything? I towed the kids on it all weekend and it seemed very rigid, even tested it with a tube for a while. Have you used yours to pull tubes?
